Who we are ...

John Collins (1802-1852) was my 3rd great grandfather, and I first happened upon him  when working on family research.  Once I realized he had been a part of the Chartist Movement, I wanted to know more about the role he played.   

What happened ...  

 Researching John Collins proved to be quite tricky since there was little or nothing about him in any one place.  ​Not to be deterred I kept on digging, and as I unearthed each piece of information I grew more fascinated by this special man and his contribution to Chartism and the working man's right to vote.

A story worth sharing ...

John Collins was a man with a social conscience, passionate in his beliefs, and not afraid to speak out about political injustice and the need for electoral reform.  However, history has seemingly overlooked him, and this website is an attempt to lift him - and his place in the Chartist Movement - out of obscurity.  I  hope you will find it interesting and informative.   Thank you for visiting.
